Before 2010, Margie’s bio read like this… Singer, songwriter, pianist, activist associated with Women’s Music movement. Recorded 9 albums on Pleiades records. Launched 2004 million-strong DC March for Women’s Lives with “We Shall Go Forth!” (which resides in the Smithsonian). Associate producer for Radical Harmonies: A History of Women’s Music and No Secrets Anymore! The Times of Del Martin & Phyllis Lyon. Songs recorded by Dusty Springfield, Peter, Paul and Mary, Meg Christian, Cris Williamson, Holly Near and Hong Kong pop star George Lam.
Margie Adam’s life path took a sharp turn in 2008 when she enrolled in the University of Integrative Learning. Although she had intended to write a memoir centered on her experiences as a radical lesbian feminist singer-songwriter and organizer in Women’s Music, another insistent “calling” stirred in her and she entered UIL’s PhD-Psychology program instead. Margie currently has a thriving integrative counseling practice in Berkeley, CA. The memoir is still out there…
