Joy is a positive and vibrant emotion that is essential to human life, survival, resilience, purpose, and wellbeing. Growing older is an incredibly rich and bountiful experience. Yet ageism affects everyone, robs us of our joy, and needs to be examined for the discrimination that it is. The invisibility of older lesbians means that our joy, health, and happiness are in jeopardy.
Aging joyfully is a way to actively engage humor as a coping strategy to assert our identity, claim our visibility, and generate self-love, inner strength, creativity, vitality, and wisdom.
Come join us at this unique work and play shop where we share experiences and explore how to bring out and embrace joy as we grow older in communities of choice.
Lesbian comic, humor and healing advocate, and Joyful Aging gerontologist Dr. Karen Williams will guide you toward meaning, purpose, love, compassion, laughter, and joy as you age.
$100 per person for a 4-hour participatory session with interactive, hands-on FUN! Everyone welcome!!!
